Project Introduction
During my teenage years, I found myself never more than two feet away from a camera. After flirting with videography for a couple of years, I found myself back with a stills camera, working on my GCSE Photography coursework.
From Videography To Photography
As part of my transition from video to stills, I followed the same subject and changed the format. At the time, I had a YouTube channel that focused on skateboarding, so when I had the opportunity to do a solo shoot for the school at a skate park, I couldn’t resist and snapped it up.
Moving On
When it was time to move on from skateboarding, I dove into a mix of different types of photography, from landscapes to street photography to portraits and photojournalism.
An Unwitting Entry Into Journalism
During my years as a GCSE student, I had the privilege of being offered a job by Mr. Evans to work alongside him as a photographer for a local rugby club, with Mr. Evans serving as the press officer.
During this time, I was published multiple times in The Totnes Times, The Western Morning News, and Dartmouth Chronicle. This experience helped me realise that I wanted to do something in journalism.
