Project Introduction
During Dan’s teenage years, he found himself never more than two feet away from a camera. After flirting with Videography for a couple of years, Dan found himself back with a stills camera, and GCSE Photography coursework to do.
From Videography To Photography
As part of Dan’s transition from video to stills, he followed the same subject and changed the format. At the time, Dan had a YouTube channel that focused on skateboarding, so when he had the opportunity to do a solo shoot for the school at a skate park. Needless to say, he snapped it up.
Moving On
When it was time to move on from skateboarding, Dan went into a medley of types of photography, from landscapes to streets to portraits to photojournalism.
An Unwitting Entry Into Journalism
During Dan’s years as a GCSE student he had the privilege of being offered a job by Mr Evans and to work alongside him as a photographer for a local Rugby Club with Mr Evans being the press officer.
During this time Dan was published multiple times in The Totnes Times, The Western Morning News, and Dartmouth Chronicle. This helped him figure out that I wanted to do something in journalism.
