Action Film Company (est. 2013)

This was a YouTube channel set up by Dan to showcase his video media skills. It revolved around Dan’s school friends and himself doing outdoor activities, chief among which was skateboarding.

Unfortunately, there were copyright issues with the soundtracks used, the friendship group dissolved, and Dan wanted to focus at the time on still photography for my GCSE. The channel was made defunct in 2016.

(The Action Film Company is still the intellectual property of DS Multimedia Ventures and Dan himself. We have retained the media produced under this name but, we do not own the name since it went defunct)

Dan Slack Photography (est. 2021)

During the COVID-19 pandemic and multiple lockdowns, Dan was off work as an apprentice car mechanic and a bar-man. he watched a BBC documentary on the Iraq War (Once Upon A Time In Iraq), having always been fascinated by war. In one episode a War Correspondent and Photographer were explaining their involvement and experiences in the conflict. At that moment Dan knew that would be his dream job.

After a lot of research and the purchase of a digital camera once again, Dan decided to design a website to showcase his photography work and my upcoming travel.

Over time Dan realised he wanted to also pursue journalism along with photography. The website became a tie, it needed a reinvention to incorporate a vast range of media so the decision was made to do a large-scale overhaul and re-brand.
