Action Film Company (est. 2013)

This was a YouTube channel set up by me to showcase my video media skills. It revolved around my school friends and I doing outdoor activities, chief among which was skateboarding.

Unfortunately there were copyright issues with soundtracks used, the friendship group dissolved, and I wanted to focus at the time on still photography for my GCSE. The channel was made defunct in 2016.

(The Action Film Company is still the intellectual property of DS Multimedia Ventures and Dan himself. We have retained the media produced under this name but, we do not own the name since it went defunct)

Dan Slack Photography (est. 2021)

During the COVID-19 pandemic and multiple lock-downs, being off work at the time as an apprentice car mechanic and a bar-man. I watched a BBC documentary on the Iraq War (Once Upon A Time In Iraq), having always been fascinated by war. In one episode there was a War Correspondent and Photographer explaining their involvement and experiences in the conflict. At that moment I knew that would be my dream job.

After a lot of research and the purchase of a digital camera once again, I decided to design a website to showcase my photography work and my upcoming travel.

Over time I realised I wanted to also pursue journalism along with photography. The website became a tie, it needed a reinvention to incorporate a vast range of media so the decision was made to do a large scale overhaul and re-brand.

(Dan Slack Photography is still the intellectual property of DS Multimedia Ventures and Dan himself. We have retained the media produced under this name and, we also still own the domain of www.danslackphotography.co.uk.)

An eclectic website for all media and for my skills to grow.

I am proud of the progression, excited about the new opportunity this will provide and itching to get going on lots of new media in the coming year.
