My favourite Rural Areas,

That I’ve Visited

  • #1 Mount Sima and Kwanlin Dun First Nation

    Yukon, Canada

Just outside Whitehorse is the most picturesque wilderness I've ever seen! If you can brave the cold, and I mean real cold! it got down to -25c when I was there, it's worth it.

  • #2 Rocky mountains

    Colorado, USA

Nestled around an old gold rush town, Durango, are some of the best mountains and ravines I’ve ever been to. A great way to see it is on the Durango steam railway which has one of the last coal fired steam engines in the USA!

  • #3 Parc Naturel Regional De Medoc

    France

Wine anyone? If you like Old world red wine, sun-kissed vineyards, and beautiful chateaus then this is the place for you!

  • #4 Esslingen

    Germany

On the outskirts of Esslingen there is stunning hilly Germanic countryside with vineyards, forts and pretty little German outbuildings. Need I say more?

  • #5 Dartmoor National Park

    England

Devon countryside taken to the max! Dartmoor has beautiful views, animals and the right to roam.

  • #6 Le Lavandou

    France

The french riviera but not the big tourist spots! Le Lavandou is cupped on the southern French coast by lovely mountains and great driving roads. You can relax on the beach or storm up a mountain pass stopping to admire the jaw dropping views as you go.
