Project Introduction
Germany is a nation that has been torn apart, stitched back together, conquered, and been a conqueror. Yet it still has a very strong and rich cultural heritage. From the Holy Roman Empire to the German Empire, from National Socialism to the EU, and from the Warsaw Pact to NATO, Germany has always had its fingers in many pies. Despite all this, this European powerhouse keeps its identity and history at the forefront. In this shoot, I trace the outline of Germany to uncover its eclectic history.
Photos were taken on a Leica M262 with Leitz Lenses. Original photos were selected, edited and uploaded in June 2023. Photos were re-selected, re-edited and re-uploaded in June 2024 to better reflect and interlink with the global photography body of work.
